New Zealand's Active Investor Plus programme — the country's residency-by-investment route, and the one usually meant by a New Zealand golden visa — grants residency in return for a qualifying investment held over a defined period.
The Growth category requires NZD 5 million held for three years, with a minimum of 21 days in New Zealand across that period. The Balanced category requires NZD 10 million held for five years, with a minimum of 105 days, reducible in exchange for additional investment in growth assets. Once an application is approved in principle the qualifying capital must be transferred and invested within a defined window — which is where the sequencing starts to matter. These are the settings published by Immigration New Zealand.
Residency by investment is an investment decision as much as an immigration one. The capital is committed for years, inside a defined set of eligible assets, with checkpoints along the way — which is why the pieces are better sequenced together than handled in isolation.
SINGAPAC's role is coordination, and it runs the length of the process — onboarding, coordinating the allocation of qualifying capital to the investment platform, administering the investment while it is held, and carrying the relationship afterwards. The structure of the investment, its documentation, regulatory compliance and the acceptance of investors rest with the investment provider. Immigration, legal, tax, financial and property advice is provided by licensed advisers. We are content to be the call that organises the others.
SINGAPAC New Zealand coordinates access to the investment platform and to licensed New Zealand advisers. It is not a licensed immigration adviser and does not provide immigration, legal, tax, financial or property advice. Immigration applications are prepared and lodged by licensed immigration advisers. The investment structure, its documentation, regulatory compliance and the acceptance of investors are the responsibility of the investment provider. Property transactions are conducted through licensed New Zealand real estate agents. Residential property held for personal use does not qualify as an Active Investor Plus investment. Active Investor Plus settings are published by Immigration New Zealand and are current as at September 2026.
